Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy made an unannounced trip to London after visiting Italy, Germany and France, seeking more weapons as the army gears up for a counteroffensive.
“The UK is a leader when it comes to expanding our capabilities on the ground and in the air,” Zelenskiy said on Twitter on Monday. “This cooperation will continue today.”
Zelenskiy said he will meet UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and will “conduct substantive negotiations face-to-face and in delegations.”
Zelenskiy toured European capitals to discuss weapons supply and signals from NATO members about his country’s future in the alliance.
